Third Conference of the International Association for Biomonitoring of Environmental Pollution - IABEP2025

Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to announce the second Call for registration and abstract submission for the upcoming 3^rd conference of the International Association for Biomonitoring of Environmental Pollution - IABEP2025, which will take place in Belgrade, Serbia, from 13 to 15 October 2025 (https://iabep2025.bio.bg.ac.rs/).

The IABEP conference will gather experts, researchers, and professionals in the biomonitoring of environmental pollution in all terrestrial and freshwater habitats. Specific research topics are:

• Biomonitoring techniques to monitor the spatial and temporal patterns of pollution and its impact, including biodiversity, pollutant accumulation, molecular markers, and magnetic analysis
• Novel biomonitoring techniques and methodologies
• Emerging pollutants and their impacts on ecosystems
• Advances in bioindicators and biomarkers for pollution monitoring
• Bioremediation and phytoremediation for pollution degradation and removal
• Integrating biomonitoring data into risk assessment and decision-making processes

The tentative Program of the conference and a list of plenary/invited speakers are available on the website (https://iabep2025.bio.bg.ac.rs/scientific-program). The Organizing Committee welcomes the submission of abstracts to be presented as regular oral or short-talk presentations. All conference abstracts must be submitted via the Online Submission System: https://iabep2025.bio.bg.ac.rs/registration. Please note that in addition to the abstract(s), it is mandatory to upload an Excel file with the ORCID of all co-authors.

Upon request, for at least five PhD/MSc students and early career researchers (<10 years from obtaining a PhD), IABEP will provide a registration fee waiver (depending on the quality of the submitted abstract).

The Organizing Committee of IABEP2025 invites participants in the conference to compete for awards for best regular and short-talk presentations for young researchers (up to 10 years after PhD) - https://iabep2025.bio.bg.ac.rs/awards. The award for winners is:

• a conference fee for participation in the next IABEP2026 conference, and
• a 1/3-year membership fee in IABEP
