Goals:

The student deepens knowledge in the field of enzymatic kinetics, structure and activity of selected enzymes and deepens knowledge and skills related to solving complex kinetic problems. Part of the course Selected chapters of enzymology are created in connection with the chosen topic of the doctoral dissertation of the candidate.

Outcome:

The student deepened his/her knowledge in the field of enzymatic kinetics, structure and activity of selected enzymes.

Lectures, theoretical exercises, labwork, colloquia, semmester papers.

Student searches scientific literature, writes and defends seminar paper.

  1. Mechanisms of enzyme reactions with one or more substrates.
  2. Kinetics of enzymatic reactions.
  3. Measurements of individual velocity constants.
  4. Detection of intermediates in enzymatic reactions.
  5. Mechanism of action of selected enzymes.
  6. The technique of recombinant technology and its application in studying the mechanisms of enzymes catalyzed by reactions.
  7. Protein engineering and testing of enzyme function and activity.
