Goals:

Training students for sampling, preparation and analysis of real samples (ores, alloys, water, soil).

Outcome:

Students are trained to take a representative sample, prepare it and analyze it.

Syllabus:

  1. Sampling of river water and soils samples, determination of dissolved oxygen.
  2. Preparation of soil samples, acidity and conductivity in river water samples.
  3. Detemination of dry residue in water samples.
  4. Volumetric determination of hardness, alkality, permanganate number and chlorides in river water.
  5. Spectrophotometric determination of phosphates, sulphates and ammonia in river water.
  6. Acidity and humidity in soil samples.
  7. Preparation of water and soil samples for metal analysis.
  8. Determination of metals by FAAS.
  9. Amperometric determination by flow injection analysis.
  10. Preparation of standard solutions and ore and alloy analysis.
